Kabali - Box Office Collection

Despite mixed reactions from the general audience, Kabali will be remembered for a long time to come for its huge pre-release buzz it created. As there was no social media during Rajinikanth’s prime, Kabali is a great example of the potential hype a Rajinikanth film, or any big Tamil film in general, could create in the modern film industry.
Kabali released at a time where people began to think Rajinikanth’s long Kollywood career was over. After films like Kochadaiyaan and Lingaa, Rajinikanth was supposedly slowly out of the game. Furthermore, people underestimating his stardom beleived Rajini’s last two industry hits (Sivaji and Enthiran) proved to be huge because of Shankar, taking away the credit from Rajini. Kabali finally gave a fitting answer grossing nearly 286 crore worldwide from mixed word of mouth.
