Dangal - Box Office Collection

Dangal - First Weekend Collection

Dangal, as expected, picked up at the box office and even netted 40 crores nett on Sunday. An Indian film has never net 40 crores on any day before until now. The film held the second biggest opening weekend from an Indian film only to be behind Sultan. It grossed a total of 208.4 crores from its first 3 days at the box office. All territories have showed excellent collections with nothing really unsatisfying the distributors. With demonetisation affecting the film though, Dangal might not cross Aamir Khan’s PK at the box office. The upcomming weeks will only hint this accurately as a prediction can’t be easily made at the moment.

Dangal - First Day Collection

Dangal took the second highest non-holiday opening ever for a Hindi film. It became the second biggeset opener for Aamir Khan after Dhoom 3 crossing his previous film, PK. Despite a good amount of territories underperforming a bit in India, it took a huge start in different territorires where it held huge numbers. Dangal was huge in Delhi/UP and East Punjab even crossing Salman Khan’s Sultan first day collection there. In the South, Dangal opened up well In Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Unexpectedly it was a bit below expectations in Karnataka and Andhra/TG. By the end of the day it held the title of being India’s 8th biggest opening Hindi film. Dangal grossed a total 69.57 crores worldwide on it’s first day including both premier and friday collections for it’s overseas numbers. With rave reviews and great response from audiences, it is expected to pick up greatly.
