Bairavaa - Box Office Collection

Bairavaa, after the grand opening, had a short run. The movie grossed 50 crores in its first week in Tamil Nadu but its second week showed near an 86% drop. Mixed reviews, Jallikattu protests, and the recent release of Bogan have all hindered the movie’s performance. Despite these issues, Bairavaa grossed over 60 crores in Tamil Nadu by its third week becoming the 10th highest grossing film in the state. With the film’s distributor expense being 47 crores, Vijay’s film at the moment suffers a loss over 6 crores in its home state. The movie held similar gross profit margins in other territories as well with the only exception being the “Rest of India” market. Outside of India, Bairavaa grossed near 30 crores with most areas unfortunately underperforming. The Gulf was the only region showing above average returns. Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore can be declared “Below Average Ventures” while other territories are sort of disastrous against its high prices. When looking at Bairavaa’s profit and numbers on a whole, the movie rightfully deserves the “Average” verdict. The movie grossed over 110 crores worldwide after four weeks.

Bairavaa - First Weekend Collection

Bairavaa picked up great over the weekend putting up a strong performance despite the expected drop from mixed reviews. Vijay’s film grossed a huge 73 crores over the four-day weekend. Worldwide it is Vijay’s second biggest opening after Theri.
Bairavaa dropped in Kerala though and being profitable there seems like a hard task. Karnataka opened a bit poorly but still could end up bringing profits. Outside of India, Bairavaa put up 25 crores. Other than North America and Europe, Bairavaa opened great overseas. Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and the Gulf all opened to extrodinary numbers. North America and European markets will bring good losses to distributors if it doesn’t pick up in its second week.
Overall, Bairavaa had a decent weekend and needs a good second week to back the film up.
