Thirupaachi - Box Office Collection

Thirupaachi contiued Vijay’s success in the Tamil market and went on to become a blockbuster. As a festival release, crowds generated 100-percent occupancies across the state. The film grossed 18 lacs in its first weekend in four theaters in Chennai. After a grand opening, the film was said to have taken a dip in footfalls. Nevertheless, Thirupaachi had a long run in Tamil Nadu completing 100 days in 112 screens and 200 days in 25 centres. Vijay’s film closed as his second highest grosser and the third highest grossing film in Tamil Nadu until Chandramukhi’s release in April.

Thirupaachi also had a great run in the overseas market. It was Vijay’s second higher grosser outside of India as well. The movie grossed near $425,000 in the Malaysian market. Vijay’s film grossed about S$260,000 in Singapore. The movie grossed $95,000 in the UAE, $83,000 in the UK, and CAD$50,000 in Canada.
